Ginghams and checks aren't just for school uniforms and tablecloths these days. They've become a style staple that can easily be incorporated into anyone's wardrobe, and if you think of them as a 'neutral' you can happily mix them with patterns as well as block colours.
A gingham dress is a great place to start and don't worry about them being too summery for these chilly days - they look just as good with opaque tights, a pair of chunky boots and a textured cardigan as they do with bare legs and sandals. Trying to get as much wear out of a piece of clothing as possible is a good way to get creative with outfit ideas.
It's always nice for me to have a virtual trawl of the high street but even more so right now, so I've really enjoyed picking some of my favourites for the season to come (and beyond).
