Introducing ARKET

It’s always pretty exciting when a new brand arrives on our high streets and ARKET is no exception. H&M have done it again – adding to their already impressive arsenal of top fashion brands. I’ve long been a fan of their eponymously named high street stores and COS and & Other Stories are also firm favourites of mine. So what does ARKET offer that the others don’t?

Well, the range includes men’s, women’s and children’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections and also has a homeware department – all composed of ARKET’s own products alongside a selection of the best examples from other brands. The style is simple and classic with tailored looks and natural fabrics – in simple terms, it’s a crossover of COS and & Other Stories.

Where location permits, the stores will also include a café which will be based on the New Nordic Kitchen and its vision of quality ingredients and healthy living. The first store has recently opened on London’s Regent Street with stores in Brussels, Copenhagen and Munch following soon, and the brand is available online in 18 countries

ARKET means ‘sheet of paper’ in Swedish. It both relates to our origin in the Nordic tradition of functional, long-lasting design and symbolises the blank sheet, the sense of optimism and possibility we felt creating this new brand

I’ve had a browse of their website and really like the way the brand is presented – their whole online shopping experience is like nothing else I’ve seen and it really feels fresh and exciting. I’ve picked a few of the key pieces from the Womenswear range which best sum up the feel of the collection for me.
