My Pick: Rope Sandals
When I was a teenager, espadrilles were a fairly cool and very cheap thing to buy for the summer but I soon learnt that they were a bit like Gremlins - there were certain rules to owning a pair; to add extra cool points, wear them with the heel squashed down like a slipper (a la Ben from Curiosity Killed the Cat), invest in a bottle of Jif for emergency grass stain removal and NEVER get them wet, they unravel quicker than you could ever imagine!
The high street is full of espadrilles and rope soled sandals at the moment - from candy striped flats to chunky metallic wedges. I've recently bought these from Zara.
