One sequin top five ways
It's been a while since I wrote a blog post - the run up to Christmas is always such a busy time for my shop but I've just come downstairs to comfort our new adopted sausage dog, Fred, and thought now would be the perfect time! I'm all for a bit of festive sparkle but sometimes it can be a bit too much, a bit too in your face and some days I like to feel Christmassy without looking like Mariah Carey. A more dressed down version is always good for me so I thought I would share how to wear one sparkly, sequinned top five different ways over the holidays. You can pick up a cheap short sleeved sequin covered top in most high street stores at the moment. I've had an H&M one for a few years now but I've recently bought this one from Warehouse and I love the colours - the red especially.
Outfit 1
If I'm honest, I would probably choose to wear jeans every day of the week if I could so of course I love this combination put together by Aimee Song. A pair of distressed jeans - they really don't have to be smart ones - and a pair of heels (any colour would do). I'd also go for a metallic or jewel coloured clutch bag if I was wearing this for an evening out.
Outfit 2
I love the combination of this outfit - the velvet palazzo pants give it a real luxe look but the trainers add a bit of comfort and versatility. I'd opt for a pair of (very clean) Stan Smiths or Vejas.
Outfit 3
This is slightly more edgy look with a faux leather pleated skirt and a pair of chunky biker boots. You could add a leather jacket for full on rock chick and if it's chilly, a pair of three quarter length leggings under your skirt!
Outfit 4
I've loved this season's dressy take on track pants and these H&M ones are such great value for money. I'd add a white cross-body bag and a black blazer to finish the look.
Outfit 5
I've owned a pair of black coated jeans for a few years now - I think they're River island ones - and they're a wardrobe staple when it comes to this time of year. Perfect with an oversized black polo neck sweater but of course they look great with a sequinned top for a party. Just add a pair of metallic boots - I love these snakeskin ones from ASOS.
