I do love a good collaboration – my recent favourites have the been the ones that Hay have done with Ikea and Cos but this is a good one! The Marimekko for Clinique Limited Edition Collection combines the iconic, colourful patterns of Finnish design house Marimekko with Clinique’s everyday beauty essentials. The collection is just about to be launched online at Clinique.com and will be in-store at Clinique retailers from February.
The collection introduces Clinique’s newest lip innovation, Clinique Pop
Splash Lip Gloss + Hydration, as well as lipstick and carefully curated gift with purchase items. All these everyday beauty essentials are dressed in Marimekko’s iconic prints designed by Annika Rimala (1936–2014), Marimekko’s most prominent ready-to-wear designer in the 1960s and 1970s and one of the most influential fashion designers of her time.
“The prints chosen for the collection represent some of the most recognizable and celebrated Marimekko designs of all time. They capture the craftsmanship behind Marimekko’s art of print making: utilizing overlays of colour and surprising colour combinations to create impactful designs,” says Minna Kemell-Kutvonen who is in charge of Marimekko’s print design.
The Marimekko for Clinique Pop Splash Lip Gloss + Hydration is available in 20 water-light shades of hydrating gloss, each shade packaged in a unique and instantly recognisable Marimekko print.
In addition, the Marimekko for Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer includes 10 shades of the iconic Pop Lip Colour + Primer.
